About Us
Spiritman is a comic book created by Scott Allen Snyder and Everett Paul Burris about 35 years ago. We were teenagers then. We loved supehero stories and we loved God. We always saw a great metaphor in these stories for the adventure that happens when you follow Jesus. While we had fun making the Spiritman comic we lacked the skills to do it right. As we grew older our paths diverged. Scott pursued writing for plays and Paul pursued drawing. One day we decided to reconnect and work on Spiritman again. This time we think we can actually pull it off -- please pray for us.
Who is your audience? We will often be asked this important question and Scott had the best aswer. A simple answer yet one that is based in scripture.
"Our audience is God."
People are often confused by this answer because they expect to hear about the type of person that likes to read Spiritman comics. In that regard we are all over the demographic map. As to Scott's answer, consider this scripture...
"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" Colossians 3:23 WMB
So whatever other crazy idea we might have we need to do these two things:
- Proclaim the greatness of God
- Make good comics
Scott A Snyder
Scott Allen Snyder is an author who lives and works in Des Moines, Iowa. He does a variety of work that includes plays, short stories and comic books.
While at comic book conventions people often ask Scott to sign their Batman comic books but he has to turn them down. The popular Scott Snyder who writes for DC comics is not the same person as our Scott Allen Snyder. However, our Scott Allen Snyder loves Batman too.
Everett Paul Burris
Everett Paul Burris Resides in Saint Cloud, Minnesota where he works as a comic book illustrator. "When I was a kid I really wanted to be a superhero. As life goes on you learn things. I came to accept that I was not going to have super powers, but drawing super heroes would be pretty cool too."
In addition to illustrating comic books, Paul is a volunteer with Youth For Christ in an artist mentoring project called Portable Vision And Audio. It is an experiment in artmaking, mentoring, and the convergence of three stories. You can learn more by visiting the Portable Vision And Audio Facebook page.

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a teenager, an aspiring Christian author, and a hopeless superhero addict. I just wanted to thank you two for writing those books. Their message came to me at a time when I needed it. They gave me hope. Keep writing and never give up.
