Back to the story... the bad guys burned a mark on the back of Chelsea's hand in the opening scene of issue 1. That is what Martin is asking about.

The Demon is laughing because it just shot Spiritman in the head. It's like that momentary pause while you are waiting for God to act and you wonder if the devil is laughing at you.

"All of them come for violence. Their hordes face the desert. He gathers prisoners like sand. Yes, he scoffs at kings, and princes are a derision to him. He laughs at every stronghold, for he builds up an earthen ramp, and takes it."

I think the point here is that Spiritman is not happy about being shot in the head. Thank you helmet of salvation.

Martin asked a very specific question based on things he experienced in a dream. Chelsea hasn't heard about the dream yet.
