The Spiritman Update can be read like a devotional. It follows the comics panel by panel mixed with commentary from the creators and a dose of scripture.

Spiritman Daily Dose 253

While Martin's mom referred to Chelsea and Cameron as his friends we should remember that Chelsea and Martin barely know each other. In fact, Chelsea was beating Martin up in the last issue. So much for a damsel in distress.
"He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the rooms of the south. He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number."
Job 9:9-10 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 254

Hello dear reader. Thank you for sticking with us. No words in the image today. The image just shows what Spiriman is doing while Cameron and Chelsea enter Martin's room.
"He urged them greatly, and they came in with him, and entered into his house. He made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate."
Genesis 19:3 WMB

What if the truth is something you don't want to know? Chelsea is making a pretty big assumption here.
"...if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, may it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands here before you whole in him."
Acts 4:9-10 WMB

In yesterday's post Chelsea starts up a tense conversation with Martin. It is a step above shoving him around the room which is what happened in issue 2. In today's post, which happens simultaneously with yesterday's post, Spiritman reaches for his sword while something emerges from the mist.
"In the same hour, the fingers of a man’s hand came out and wrote near the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace. The king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king’s face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and his knees struck one against another."
Daniel 5:5-6 WMB

Chelsea wants answers... so Martin asks her a question about God. This could be a problem given Chelsea's bad temper. Better think about ducking.
"As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead. They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant."
Mark 9:9-10 WMB

In yesterday's post which happens simultaneously with today's post Martin starts a conversation with Chelsea. Now Spiritman is rushing forward with sword and shield ready. It was a fun image to draw.
"In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely."
Hosea 2:18 WMB

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a teenager, an aspiring Christian author, and a hopeless superhero addict. I just wanted to thank you two for writing those books. Their message came to me at a time when I needed it. They gave me hope. Keep writing and never give up.
