The Spiritman Update can be read like a devotional. It follows the comics panel by panel mixed with commentary from the creators and a dose of scripture.

Spiritman Daily Dose 299

Martin saw Chelsea in a dream. She was being attacked by two thugs who crudely burned/cut a mark into the back of her hand. Martin asked Chelsea about this injury and is now sharing what he knows about the mark.
"Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips."
Psalm 16:4 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 300

Spiritman's armor comes and goes as it is needed. Remember... the demon character in the background just shot Spiritman in the head... he might be angry.
"The LORD thunders his voice before his army; for his forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys his command; for the day of the LORD is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?"
Joel 2:11 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 301

Martin tries to explain himself but Chelsea isn't buying it. The challenge is that they lack a shared experience. How can they find it?
"Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."
Hebrews 2:14-15 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 302

The demonic archer fires again... but this time Spiritman is ready!
"The arrow can’t make him flee. Sling stones are like chaff to him."
Job 41:28 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 303

I have heard that people generally look at a person's mouth while they are listening to them talk. The point of this panel is that Martin is doing a lot of talking.
"That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."
Matthew 15:11 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 304

While Martin is missing the point in his conversation with Chelsea... Spiritman swings and misses the archer demon.
"It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor being hasty with one’s feet and missing the way."
Proverbs 19:2 WMB

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a teenager, an aspiring Christian author, and a hopeless superhero addict. I just wanted to thank you two for writing those books. Their message came to me at a time when I needed it. They gave me hope. Keep writing and never give up.
