The Spiritman Update can be read like a devotional. It follows the comics panel by panel mixed with commentary from the creators and a dose of scripture.

Spiritman Daily Dose 263

Martin is blitzing. I wonder if it will work out for him. Cameron is just watching the show.
"Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts. For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from the LORD. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death."
Proverbs 8:34 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 264

The sword and shield prove to be effective. Martin's efforts seem to be having an impact in the spirit world.
"The sword will fall on their cities, and will destroy the bars of their gates, and will put an end to their plans. My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to the Most High, he certainly won’t exalt them."
Hosea 11:6-7 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 265

Martin calls God his friend. That is a pretty amazing statement considering God's tremendous and awesome authority. Why does such a powerful being concern himself with an ordinary person like Martin?
"No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you."
John 15:15 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 266

Just noticing how the writer gets to really show off every other day here in issue 3. The truth is that even the scenes without words originated with the writer. That being said... I know that Scott is still a big fan of the words.
"The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips."
Ecclesiastes 10:12 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 267

If I were Martin I would be thinking... "Cameron, why are you on my bed?" Cameron says he knows the things Martin is saying but his spirit is against them.
"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds."
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 268

Leading up to the current panel... Cameron questions why he should even be listening to Martin talk about God. At that moment in the spirit realm an arrow is loosed from the misty distance.
"My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your glory be above all the earth!"
Psalm 57:4-5 WMB

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a teenager, an aspiring Christian author, and a hopeless superhero addict. I just wanted to thank you two for writing those books. Their message came to me at a time when I needed it. They gave me hope. Keep writing and never give up.
