The Spiritman Update can be read like a devotional. It follows the comics panel by panel mixed with commentary from the creators and a dose of scripture.

Spiritman Daily Dose 182

I can't tell if Martin is just stunned or is being totally snarky. Maybe it's both. Can his parents hear all the ruckus going on in his room? Would they care if they did?
“Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he comes out of a far country for your name’s sake (for they shall hear of your great name, and of your mighty hand, and of your outstretched arm); when he comes and prays toward this house; hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name."
1 Kings 8:41-43 WMB

I don't think she actually said "can it" but if I were you I wouldn't bring up the fact. Just let it slide. Also, I'm sure that telling Chelsea to "calm down" will work really well... I love teasing Martin.
"If the spirit of the ruler rises up against you, don’t leave your place; for gentleness lays great offenses to rest."
Ecclesiastes 10:4 WMB

Cameron... you had better pay attention to what Chelsea is doing. I think she is getting really angry now... and not the kind that can be fixed with a candy bar.
God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the vine?” He said, “I am right to be angry, even to death.”
Jonah 4:9 WMB
Spiritman Daily Dose 185

I warned Cameron about taking his eyes off Chelsea... she was reaching for the book to throw. As the illustrator of Spiritman I have been hanging out with Martin, Cameron and Chelsea for a long time now. I wonder if they know me...
"For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known."
1 Corinthians 13:12 WMB

In case you missed yesterday's post, Chelsea just hit Cameron with a book so forcefully that it knocked him off his feet. Such anger... such violence. I love the expression on Martin's face. Nothing this interesting has ever happened to him before.
"Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can’t save? Yet you, LORD, are in the middle of us, and we are called by your name. Don’t leave us."
Jeremiah 14:9 WMB

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a teenager, an aspiring Christian author, and a hopeless superhero addict. I just wanted to thank you two for writing those books. Their message came to me at a time when I needed it. They gave me hope. Keep writing and never give up.
