The Spiritman Update can be read like a devotional. It follows the comics panel by panel mixed with commentary from the creators and a dose of scripture.

Now we get to see what made Martin so wide eyed. He didn't just wake up... he woke up in a cornfield. We're in a dream sequence here so the panels will be really fluid. The thought balloons go best with tomorrows panel so I blocked them out for now.

Martin moves quickly from his bed in the corn field to a busy city street. The city was in the distance in the previous panel. It's a dream so anything can happen.
"When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the eunuch didn’t see him any more, for he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea."

I got uninvited from a party once because I said I didn't like the artwork in this building. It is an actual building that exists outside of our story. Can anybody guess which building it is?
"At the end of two full years, Pharaoh dreamed, and behold, he stood by the river. Behold, seven cattle came up out of the river. They were sleek and fat, and they fed in the marsh grass. Behold, seven other cattle came up after them out of the river, ugly and thin, and stood by the other cattle on the brink of the river. The ugly and thin cattle ate up the seven sleek and fat cattle. A claw hand... that is serious. In the last panel there was an explosion coming from the upper floors of the building but we were seeing it from Martin's perspective on the street. Martin, are you sure you want to get up there?

That's right. This is a dream, and Martin knows it's a dream. He popped up onto an upper ledge and Spiritman is there fighting the claw/hand thing... wait... what?
