Martin did not hulk out as was suggested but Spiritman, the knight from Martin's dream, did arrive. So... it's game on.

"Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth, I will call to you when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower from the enemy."
Psalm 61:1-3 WMB

Scott and Everett were following Chelsea... Martin was following Scott and Everett... Carlos was following Martin... now Carlos is calling Frieda so she can follow him. This is so confusing. Can we just get everyone in the same room with Spiritman? Maybe tomorrow.

"God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us, again. You have made the land tremble. You have torn it. Mend its fractures, for it quakes. You have shown your people hard things. You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger. You have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth."
Psalm 60:1-4 WMB

Spiritman's sword disappeared. What is he planning to do? We have just learned that Spiritman's armor and weapons may come and go as needed. Now the sword may have been overkill when compared to Scott's knife. Still, how can Spiritman deal with the bad guy but not hurt Chelsea? Find out tomorrow...

"For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings. My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up."
Psalm 63:7-8 WMB

It is a good day when "EEEEEEK" appears in your comic. Spiritman's shield passed right through Chelsea and smacked into Scott. That's a cool power.

"As the apostle Paul described the armor of God, the shield represents righteousness. Righteousness comes from God. We can not achieve it apart from him.
"In your majesty ride on victoriously on behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness. Let your right hand display awesome deeds."
Psalm 45:4 WMB

The "helmet head" comment would be a much bigger insult if Spiritman were not actually wearing a helmet. As the apostle Paul described the armor of God, the helmet represents salvation.

"that if you will confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9 WMB

In case you missed yesterday's post... Carlos was about to shoot while Spiritman was recovering his shield. Today's image shows Spiritman ducking behind his shield as bullets are being deflected.
The shield of faith. A couple of days ago I mistakenly stated that the shield represented righteousness. Actually, in Ephesians the apostle Paul uses the breastplate to represent righteousness. Throughout the scriptures there are many metaphors used to illustrate the role of righteousness in our lives, eg. mountains, a belt, a robe. Paul also wrote about how faith leads to righteousness.

"For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed. But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness."
Romans 4:3-5 WMB
